VICTORIA FALLS

Victoria Falls, locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The Smoke That Thunders”. This magnificent waterfall is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and is just an hours drive from the Matetsi Unit 3 camp. Although not the highest or the widest waterfall in the world this magnificent waterfall is classified as the world’s largest sheet of falling water. At over 5600ft long and a height of 354ft this thundering wall of water has earned its place as one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

EXTREME SPORTS

Whitewater rafting, bungee jumping and gorge swinging are activities that are sure to get your heart racing. Whitewater rafting starts just below the mighty falls, this mass of thundering water continues down the Zambezi river and contains a total of 23 rapids. You can book a half or a full day rafting. Bungee jumping takes place on the Victoria Falls bridge, this bridge serves as a crossing place and the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. The bungee jump is a 333ft high, 4-second free fall towards the Zambezi river gushing below in the valley. The gorge swing is a leap into the vast Batonka canyon downstream from the falls. The swing is done from a wire spanning the vast chasm of the 360ft high and 900ft wide gorge. This zero gravity swing begins with a 210ft free-fall into the canyon below, where your harness and jump ropes then support your weight and whisk you across to the opposite end of the gorge.
